Dr Amarjit Ramchandra Deshmukh is an esteemed academician with over 30 years of experience, currently serving as the Associate Professor and Director at Bharati Vidyapeeth University's School of Distance Education in New Delhi. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Deshmukh has held various pivotal roles within the university, including Assistant Librarian, Librarian, Assistant Director, Deputy Director, and Programme Director, culminating in his promotion to Director in June 2014.
Dr. Deshmukh's educational background is robust and diverse. He holds a Ph.D. focused on the analytical study of Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) Management in Distance Education. Additionally, he has earned an MBA in Marketing, a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Library Information Science, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts.
A notable contributor to academia, Dr. Deshmukh has published several books, including titles on ICT in Distance Education and motivational thoughts. His research work is extensively published in international journals, covering topics such as cyber entrepreneurship, social media's impact on entrepreneurship, and the role of ICT in organizational sustainability.
Dr. Deshmukh's achievements have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Dr. Shivajirao Kadam Purskar, Best Teacher award, and Best Innovative Director of Distance Education. He is also the founder secretary of the Dr. Shivajirao Kadam Foundation and the general secretary of the New Economic and Educational Development Society (NEEDS), both NGOs dedicated to social development.
His contributions to distance education, library management, and ICT have been significant, impacting both the academic community and the broader educational landscape. Dr. Deshmukh’s leadership and vision continue to drive innovation and excellence in the field of distance education.
